Ristorante Al Conte Pescaor

I had only slept two hours max on the flight to Venice. (There were too many movies to watch!) The first thing my family needed was food. We couldn't waste a good day because of jet lag or traveling fatigue. After a few twists and turns down narrow streets leading away from our hotel, we saw Ristorante Al Conte. You're probably wondering why this introduction lacks a description of tedious research preceding this significant meal. Sometimes we just leave great foodie experiences up to luck.

This restaurant-the first meal we ate on the trip-really made an impression.

Spaghetti con Vongole - Spaghetti with a clam sauce

As you can see, these clams were quite small, only the size of my thumbnail. They were tender and the spaghetti was al dente--a perfect combination.

Insalata Caprese - Tomato, basil, mozzerella, olives, olive oil; Light, refreshing salad

Cuisine: Italian

San Marco 544, Piscina San Zulian - Calle Specchieri

30100 Venice, Italy (Castello)
