Hello From one foodie to another

Seafood Tagliatelle: Rich, creamy sauce with a mix of seafood and broccoli.

Trattoria Do Forni
We came back from a few hours of sightseeing and passed out as soon as we hit the pillow. Sure enough one family member's internal alarm system set off with a growling stomach. It was feeding time. We woke up and groggily dragged ourselves out of bed to find some dinner. It was the first night, we weren't in the mood for extensive restaurant research at nearly 10pm for dinner, when perhaps there would be no restaurants open. The concierge directed us to Trattoria Do Forni, a short walk from the hotel in a little alleyway (oh wait, that description fits almost every restaurant in Venice). My sister and I leading the way approached the front of the restaurant and looked in only to find an empty restaurant. I turned back with a questioning look on my face towards my mother, confirming that this was actually the place suggested. We often seek out the most crowded restaurants taking it as a sign of popularity and thus good eating. We were led to the back of the restaurant where everything became clear. It was bustling and busy even at ten. Good to know, people eat late in Venice! We ordered four dishes which we proceeded to pass around in an organized fashion led by my mother's accurate timing. The four dishes + dessert:
Seafood Tagliatelle
Chicken with Cream Sauce
Fried Baby Squid
Fried Veal
Strawberries with Balsamic
On our trip to Italy, this was our first dinner and most memorable. Oh, but wait! We also had a fabulous lunch earlier in the day. Check out my other post about lunch in Venice: best Spaghetti con Vongole on our trip!
Chicken

Fried Baby Squid: Lightly salted, crunchy, and too good to be true

Fried Veal: tender veal with a side of potatoes

Wild Strawberries with balsamic: Teeny strawberries with a balsamic glaze, which was not overpowering or sour like you would think; instead deliciously sweet
