From Turkey to Germany - "Spinning Roast Meat" at Verts Kebap
I headed out, with a few new friends, to Verts Kebap. The kebap is reminiscent of a gyro and grilled sandwich. These kebaps are not to be confused with the typical kabobs (skewered grilled meat). The meat was cooked on one of those rotating skewers and shaved off in thin slices with an electrical circle saw! They had run out of beef in their to-go containers, but a kind person behind the counter advised me to wait for a fresh batch of their beef/lamb combination. It was well worth it.
The meat was browned on one side and juicy on the other. After the meat was stuffed into the pocket of bread, we had to choose a sauce (house - creamy with dill and spicy red - cayenne + house) and then add extra sides (corn, red onion, mixed greens, tomato.) Verts was convenient and efficient, perfect for when you’re busy. This excursion connected me to other foodies and I can’t wait for more adventures with them!
P.S. Sorry, no photos this time! I completely forgot and inhaled the sandwich.. :D Have I mentioned how tasty it was?
