Taiwan, I see you

After researching what to see in Taiwan, I found some bloggers talking about Taiwan's youth culture and its Indie music scene. While I was unable to check out any live indie music while I was here, I did find a street with a plethora of little cafes, surrounded by florists and restaurants. They were Western in their menus (coffees, cupcakes, and macaroons), but their atmospheres were not. The one I stopped in was not loud and bustling, but instead quiet and intimate. It was pristine inside and not at all muddy despite the pouring rain. Umbrellas were left in a bucket outside, while customers were served their food at tables with a basket on the side for their bags and belongings. It was a serene stop in the midst of a packed day of touring.
