This one's quite a mouthful

Joe’s Shanghai, you’ve got competition! You’ll find it in a little cubby hole in the theater district of Manhattan with a very long name: Real Kungfu Soup Dumpling Ramen. Their soup dumplings are comparable to Joe Shanghai’s if not better. What distinguishes them though, is that the rest of their menu impressed my grandparents, who are constantly looking for places that will serve them reasonable authentic Chinese food.

I saw a familiar egg and tomato dish pass by, something I remember having everyday for lunch in Beijing. For dessert we ordered bowls of tangyuan, which came prepared a little differently that my mom makes them. They came in a bowl of rice wine and egg drop soup and were filled with sesame.

As my grandparents and I walked through the tight aisles between tables, chairs, people, and puffy jackets, I noticed a few glances from the college students who were out for their late night fix of Chinese food.
